Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Center is pleased to welcome its newest physician, Mark A. Prissel, DPM to the country’s largest integrated foot and ankle, physician-owned practice. He will begin seeing patients October 24, 2016 at the Westerville and Dublin locations.

Dr. Prissel is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon specializing in complex foot and ankle reconstruction including total ankle replacement, arthroscopic cartilage restoration, deformity correction, sports medicine, post-traumatic reconstruction and revision surgery of the foot and ankle.  He has expertise with conditions best managed by conservative care and is knowledgeable of when surgery is the appropriate option.

Dr. Prissel received his Fellowship training here at OFAC, under the guidance and expertise of our world renowned surgeons. Prior to the fellowship, he completed an extensive three-year surgical residency at Gundersen Medical Foundation in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he served as Co-Chief Resident and completed two international medical missions.  He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he graduated top of his class. He has authored several scholarly publications and was the recipient of the 2013 American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Manuscript Award of Excellence, while receiving 2nd place in 2014 and 3rd place in 2016.  Additionally, he served as Content Editor for a newly published, internationally recognized textbook on total ankle replacement.

According to Dr. Prissel, the best part of his job is getting his patients back to doing the activities they love. "I enjoy treating ankle instability and other foot and ankle ailments. These conditions can arise from general 'wear & tear,' old sports injuries or other trauma that tend to cause pain and difficulty with daily activities long after the initial onset. Whether treating with therapy, bracing or surgery; getting these patients back to their desired activity with less pain and improved function is rewarding and can make a major impact on their life.”

A native of Fall Creek, WI, Dr. Prissel currently resides in Dublin with his wife Danielle and young family. Aside from work, cooking, travel, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Prissel will begin accepting new patients October 24th. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Prissel, call (614) 895-8747 or visit orthofootankle.com.
