Applications are accepted for both orthopedic and podiatric fellowships which attract top candidates in each field and remain two of the most well regarded training programs of their kind. Through clinical and research excellence, our programs have remained at the forefront of the subspecialty.

Fellowship Responsibilities
Approximately 1,500 foot and ankle surgical procedures are performed annually, which provide the fellow an opportunity to participate in every aspect of foot and ankle reconstruction. Each fellow will benefit from both clinical rotations and additional time for work on an approved clinical research project. Prior to completing the fellowship, it is expected that a minimum of one paper will be prepared for publication in a peer reviewed journal. Surgical procedures of the week are discussed at a weekly orthopedic conference. There is a monthly journal club and research meeting for the foot and ankle staff. Fellows will attend several national and local courses on Foot and Ankle. While the fellows are not primarily responsible for resident education, the fellows participate in helping to fulfill our responsibility for resident education. Fellows are involved with residency programs at Grant Hospital and The Ohio State University Medical Center. Each fellow takes call and is responsible for inpatient care and is allocated two weeks of vacation during their one-year training. Vacation may be taken in conjunction with specialty meetings and national foot and ankle courses. Prior approval must be arranged with the Program Director to ensure adequate OR and call coverage.
